Theft of CEB’s equipment worth Rs. 2.1 Mn
The Welikada Police has commenced an investigation regarding the theft of cables and equipment worth more than Rs. 2.1 million, by breaking into a zonal warehouse of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) in Etulkotte.
The electrical engineer of the zonal office had complained to the Welikada Police that the theft had taken place between August 11 and 14.
The complaint filed by the electrical engineer stated that two crimping tools worth Rs.1.7 million, copper cables worth Rs. 300,000 and six boxes containing molded case circuit breakers had been stolen.
