Thorough probe into child sex scandal: 41 arrested ASG, State Counsels to lead prosecution of suspects

The Police have so far arrested 41 for the sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old girl on charges of child sex trafficking, child abuse, statutory rape and aiding in the crimes, the Police Headquarters said in a statement.

The statement added that both her parents were among the arrested.

The Police said a thorough investigation has commenced based on telecommunication data, the Internet search data, financial details and CCTV footage.

The Police stated that a request has been made from Court to ban several websites linked to the scandal. The Court has inquired over the matter from the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. The Attorney General has appointed an Additional Solicitor General (ASG) and several State Counsels to lead with the prosecution of the suspects.
