Three Emu birds, four Ring-Tailed Lemurs donated
Three Emu birds and four Ring-Tailed Lemurs donated to Sri Lanka by the Czech Republic under an animal exchange programme arrived at Katunayake Airport on Wednesday night.
These Emu birds, which are about four months old, are flightless birds native to Australia. The Ring-Tailed Lemur is an endangered animal species native to Madagascar. Two two-year-old male Ring-Tailed Lemur’s and two 11-year-old female Ring-Tailed Lemur’s have been sent. These animals are to be presented for public exhibition at the Pinnawala, Wagolla Zoo after being quarantined for one month.
