Attanagalla No.02 Magistrate Manjula Karunaratne yesterday (15) ordered that three suspects, including an owner of a financial company, who are allegedly involved in hijacking a motorcycle along with a fifteen-year-old child saying that the payment of installments are not being fulfilled, to be remanded until June 22.
On May 19, a group of people abducted a motorcycle with a fifteen-year-old child in the Mugurugampala area of Mirigama.
On the same afternoon, the suspects brought back the child in a three-wheeler and the villagers had caught them and handed them over to the Mirigama Police.
During the initial investigation by the Police, it was revealed that the motorcycle was taken away with the child due to non-payment of installments owed to a finance company in the Nittambuwa Nambadaluwa area.
Accordingly, the Police conducted further investigations and the suspects were arrested and remanded after being produced before the Court.
