Three in SDIG assault case bailed

Three suspects who were arrested and remanded for assaulting the Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Thennakoon were enlarged on bail. The order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday. They were released on a surety of Rs.500,000 each.

The suspects were produced before an identification parade yesterday and the suspects were identified by the witnesses. A group of lawyers appearing on behalf of the suspects informed court that the suspects had been in prison for a long time and requested them to be released on suitable bail condition. The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for November 3.
