Three vehicles crashed; one died one injured

One person died on the spot and another was injured when three vehicles collided near Omantha Checkpoint in Vavuniya last Sunday (30).

The injured person was admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital, and doctors stated that his condition is also critical. Deceased was a 23-years-old.

The accident happened when a tractor was taking a broken cab to a garage and a lorry came behind it at high speed and collided with the cab.

As soon as the lorry collided, the two occupants of the tractor were fallen to the ground and both of them collided with the lorry.

Vavuniya Omantha Police has arrested the lorry driver and is conducting investigations into the incident.
