Three Young Lankan Nuclear scientists win 1 Gold, 2 Silver at International Olympiad
Three young Sri Lankan Nuclear scientists who participated in the International Olympiad on Nuclear science held in the Philippines and won one Gold medal and two Silver medals, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday (8).
This was held in New Clark, Philippines from July 31 to August 07, with more than 60 contestants from 14 countries worldwide.
For the first time, a Sri Lankan team participated in this tournament, with M.N.A. Mushab, a past pupil of DS Senanayake Vidyalaya, Colombo, winning a Gold medal, and Pambasara Maduwage, a past pupil of Royal College, Colombo, and Akhila Bandara, a past pupil of Kingswood College, Kandy, winning Silver medals.
Officials of the Sri Lanka Physicists Association, along with the winners’ parents were present at the BIA to welcome them on their arrival.
