Thundershowers forecast

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the country after 2.00 p.m., the Meteorology Department said.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Uva, Easten, Northern and North-Central Provinces.

A few showers may occur in coastal areas of the Western and Southern Provinces and in Puttalam district during the morning too.

The public are requested to take precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
