Tills robbed at Polgasowita temple

Kahathuduwa Police said that a person who had come with a sharp weapon had broken the tills of the temple shrine and dewala of the Rilawala Susilarama Temple in Polgasowita and run away with the money.

Police suspect that the theft may have been committed yesterday (21) at around 1.30 am.

It has been revealed during investigations that the thief had entered the shrine room through the wooden carvings section above the door and broken the till and stolen the money. The doors of three devalas had also been broken open and the tills robbed as well.

Kahathuduwa Police OIC, Chief Inspector A.H.K. Priyankara and Sub- Inspector I.R. Wickremaratne are conducting investigations.
