Time for SLPPers who switched to the ‘Gas Cylinder’ to return – C.B. Ratnayake
Former MP and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Kandy District Leader C. B. Ratnayake, stated that if the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and the United National Party (UNP) unite, those who abandoned the SLPP for the Gas Cylinder will be stranded.
He emphasised that those who switched to the Gas Cylinder must now make a decision.
Ratnayake made these remarks addressing the media following a meeting with representatives of the Kundasale electorate of the SLPP. The meeting was organised by SLPP Kundasale organiser Rishad Maharoof.
“UNP and SJB are discussing on uniting. That’s good. Now the cylinder have become a can. We are not ready to pull the leg of this Government. We are preparing for it,” he said.He also said that 25% of opportunities in the Local Government Elections should be given to the youth. “Now, the youth are gathering around the party,”.
Ratnayake said when they received two-thirds power from the people, the COVID-19 pandemic arrived unexpectedly. “We had to face a significant economic downturn with that. Tourists did not arrive in the country. Export income decreased”, he said.
“Conspiracies were hatched against our Government. People were deceived by lies . To build the country, we must first build the village. We will gain power at the Local Government elections to rebuild the villages,” he said.
