Tokyo Olympics – an opening ceremony like no other

The expectation and anticipation was greater than ever as billions of people around the world watched the proceedings of the biggest sporting event on the planet live on television.

Although there were no spectators at the stadium, Tokyo produced a spectacular opening ceremony with an artistic display soon after the lighting of the Olympic cauldron took place.

The Olympics opening ceremony took place under the theme of ‘United by Emotion’ because the Games will be held in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
