Top SJB stalwarts leaving party due to weak leader – NPP
Some top politicians alligned with Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) are leaving the party due to the weak and ill-judged decisions of the party
leader Sajith Premadasa, the Badulla District NPP group leader Samantha Vidyarathne said.
According to him, the SJB MPs Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara who support the present government are some examples.
He added that Kalutara District SJB MP Rajitha Senaratne is also ready to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe. He also said that more politicians are ready to leave the SJB.
He stated this addressing a public rally in Balangoda yesterday. Vidyarathne said the public have no option other than the National People’s Power (NPP) in order to rebuild this country, which was completely destroyed throughout the past 74 years. He said today, the people are flocking around the NPP not for the cheap benefits such as liquor, rice packets or any other things, but with the intention of creating a people’s era in the country.
The political parties which ruled and destroyed this country have started fighting within their own parties. The blue colour party is seeking the support of the court to claim the ownership of the party while the green colour faction has split into several parts. The poverty and uneducated people are a blessing to the rulers of this country. They can use the poor and uneducated for their benefit. “However, that era of being misled by the rulers is now over”, Vidayarathne said, adding that the NPP will form a government this year turning a new page in the country’s political history.
