'Tour Guides Alliance requests restoration of Aeroflot operations

A protest was staged by the Professional Tour Guides Alliance in Colombo recently calling for normalizing ties with Russia affected over the Aeroflot issue which led to withdrawal of Russian tourists from Sri Lanka. Russian Speaking Tourist Guides Leaders Association spokesperson Senaka Herath said they had a long standing friendship with Russia and requested to provide them unstinted support to bring back Russian tourists again. Aeroflot commenced brining in Russian tourists since March 2021 and around 40,000 Russians have visited Sri Lanka so far.
