Traditional Tamil leaders promoted racism after losing power – AKD
National People’s Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake (AKD) said that traditional Tamil leaders sowed the seeds of racism when they lost their power.
He said so yesterday (21) while addressing a Kurunegala District Summit of the retired military collective.
Dissanayake said over the years politicians had sowed the seeds of racism in the country.
He said not only Tamil leaders but southern leaders also sowed racism. “Changing the existing economic system, social and political culture is a challenge we face. The disaster the country is facing is something caused by the previous rulers. We need to intervene with firm determination to change this situation,” he added.
