A man, who went to forest to hunt wild animals, was entangled in a trap gun set up by another hunter.
According to the Padaviya Police, H. Padmasiri (59), a resident of Galwala Road, Bogaswewa, was was killed in this manner.
His wife told Police that her husband left the house to hunt wild animals on 24 morning. As he did not return home, a search had been carried out and only then his dead body foundon February 26 morning, Police Media Spokesman, Senior Superintendent of Police, Attorney-at-Law Nihal Talduwa said.
He also said that the body was found in a field near the forest close to his house. The firearm that the man took for hunting and the trap gun were found at the scene.
The trap gun had been installed at a place where wild animals enter paddy fields from the jungle.
Padaviya Police said that the person who set up the trap gun has not yet been identified.
Investigations are continuing.
