Travel ban imposed on Wimal Weerawansa’s brother over vehicle misuse probe

The Fort Magistrate’s Court has imposed an overseas travel ban on Sarath Weerawansa, the brother of former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, in connection with an investigation into the alleged misuse of government vehicles.

According to reports, the order was issued over allegations that 40 government vehicles were misused, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs. 9 million to the state.
