The chief guard of the express train running from Colombo Fort to Trincomalee was admitted to Ragama Hospital yesterday morning with injuries after he had fallen from the train.
The chief guard was found lying on the ground near Bulugahagoda Railway Station by villagers.
Railway officials had found the guard missing at the Gampaha station as he had not signalled the train to leave.
It was revealed later that the guard was not in his official train compartment. In the subsequent investigation, it has been revealed that he had fallen from the running train at Bulugahagoda.
Hospital sources said that the condition of the train guard was serious.
