Trinity beats St. Anthony’s to enter Div. One Tier ‘A’ L/O Cricket final

Trinity College Kandy entered the final of the Under 19 Inter Schools Division One Tier A Limited Overs Cricket tournament.

Trinity College recorded thrilling two-wicket win against their arch rival St. Anthony’s College Katugastota in the semi final played at Thurstan College ground Colombo yesterday.

St. Anthony’s scored 202 runs for six wickets in 50 overs. Opener Kavindu Bandara scored unbeaten 74 runs in 141 balls with eight boundaries. Thisara Ekanayake (35), Janith Rathnasiri (27*) and Traveen Mathew (25) helped to build their innings. Vibhavith Ehelepola and Theeraka Ranathunga claimed two wickets each. Theeraka Ranatunga and Thisara Ekanayake made a 61-run stand for third wicket.

Trinity scored 204 runs for eight wickets in 49.2 overs. Theeraka Ranathunga scored 57 runs in 86 balls with four boundaries. Theeraka Ranathunga and Wathila Udara scored 68-run stand for sixth wicket. Wathila Udara (37), Dinusha Peiris (29), Rahal Amarasinghe (23), Vibhavitha Ehelepola (18*) and Janith Ravishka (17) helped to build their inning. Traveen Mathew claimed three wickets for 40 runs.

Trinity College Kandy will meet Richmond College Galle in the final on December 2 at Police park Colombo.
