Trinity clinch Under 16 Rugby title

Trinity College Kandy clinched the All-Island Under 16 Ten-a-side Rugby Tournament by beating D.S. Senanayake College Colombo by 5 points (1 try) to nil with a last-minute try in the Cup Championship Final played at Pallekele yesterday. Royal College Colombo bagged the Plate Championship by St. Peter’s College Colombo by 15 points to 7 in the final.

Isipathana College Colombo overcame Ananda College Colombo by 10-7 to take the Bowl Championship while the Shield was bagged by Science College who beat Lumbini College 17-nil.

The quarter finals, semifinals and the finals of the all island under 16 ten-a-side Elite tournament organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby football Association was to be played at Bogambara Stadium yesterday Sunday, but it was shifted to Trinity College grounds at Pallekele due to Boagambara Stadiums playing in bad condition.
