Defending champions Trinity College Kandy entered the final of the Under 19 Division One Tier A Limited Over’s Inter Schools Cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and the finals will be played on Tuesday against St.Joseph’s College at the Thurstan College grounds,

This time too like in the last season, the defending champions Trinity College gave their best. So, now it’s going to be a Trinity College vs St. Joseph’s College final. The defending champions Trinity College side who are well guided by their coach Naveen Ekanayake has made the school and Kandy proud by giving a good display but he will miss the final he has gone to Dubai for the ICC level III coaching course, which will be held from November 21 to 26 Naveen Ekanayake was well supported by Lakshitha Alahakoon-Assistant Coach, Bandula Pushpakumara-Trainer, Lasantha Herath Physiotherapist, Bryan Senaratne- MIC and the person who gave the best support was the principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara

So, the Trinity College cricketers make Kandy proud and cricket lovers in numbers will be seen in this final, this side last season did well to win the under 19 division one Tier A One day tournament, last season they celebrated the double championship after a lapse of eleven years under the captaincy of Rahal Amarasinghe, before that their last double championship was during the cricket season 2011/12 under the captaincy of Niroshan Dickwella.

The the captain of the side Manula Kularatne did a good job as captain;he must be thankful to the rest of the players for their superb contribution. This season’s cricketers who gave their best are Manula Kularathne (captain), Dinusha Pieris (vice captain), Janith Warnakula, Dinuka Tennakoon, Viduka Dhammage, Tharana Wimaladharma, Malith Rathnayake, Kavindu Jayaratne, Lakvin Abeyasinghe, Supun Waduge, Wathila Udara,Jayavi Liyanagama, Dimantha Mahavithana, Puleesha Thilakaratne, Rajindu Thilakarthne,Ometh Bandara.

Kandy’s cricket lovers are happy for the superb performance of the Trinity College cricket side, which made them enter finals for the second time in a row. In last year’s final they beat Richmond College by 41 runs on D/L method. Due to wet conditions match got off to a delayed start and was reduced to 41 overs
