Trump Signs Russia Sanctions Bill, Raising Tariff Threat for India and China

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed legislation authorizing tariffs of up to 100% on countries purchasing Russian oil and gas, including India and China, according to foreign media reports cited by Ada Derana.
The legislation is aimed at increasing economic pressure on Moscow over its war in Ukraine by targeting countries that continue to purchase Russian energy.
The measure authorizes tariffs but does not necessarily mean the maximum rate will be imposed immediately on all affected countries.
The law also expands sanctions targeting Russian officials, banks, energy operations and vessels used to evade existing restrictions. (Newswire)
