Twelve rugby teams vie for Lions rugby7s title

Trinity College Class of 99 will host a 7s rugby tournament today at the Bogambara Stadium, where the organizers will bring together 12 rugby teams to create a top tournament, each team will be represented by the old boys of schools. Pool “A” Isipathana, St.Peters, Wesley. Pool “B” D.S.Senanayake, Trinity, St.Sylvester’s Pool “C” St. Anthony’s, Royal + S. Thomas’. Vidyartha, Pool “D” Dharmaraja, St.Josephs’’, Kingswood. The last named team still to confirm and there will be also a game between Kandy Sports Club and CR & FC before the event ends.

This 7s organized by the Class of 99 of Trinity College is a celebration of the rich rugby heritage that this school has nurtured over the years. Trinity College and Kandy’s rugby lovers are sure to be there make this 7s a grand one with good quality run and pass rugby. This is the first time a tournament if this nature is being played, if the weather permits it should be a good one.

Trinity – S. Thomas football encounter

The12th Annual Trinity College vs S. Thomas College Football encounter will be played today at Digana grounds. This encounter comprises the under16 encounter, the old boys encounter and the under 19 encounter.

Last year the under 16 game was won by Trinity college 4-0, Old boys game was won by S. Thomas College 3-0 and the under 19 by S. Thomas 3-0. . The matches will be start at 11.45 AM under 14 “A”, 11.50 under 14 “B”, Under 16 “B” 1 pm, “A” 2 pm and the senior game at 3. 15PM
