Twenty Gold sovereigns robbed from businesswoman’s house

Medirigiriya Police are investigating a theft of gold items worth over Rs. 3.5 million belonging to a businesswoman residing in Diyasenpura. She has complained to the Police regarding the robbery on Saturday (27).

“It appears the thieves had broken a window and entered the businesswoman’s house and had stolen the gold jewellery weighing 20 sovereigns from a cupboard in a room,” Police said.
