Sri Lanka national rugby selectors headed by Asoka Jayasena have picked a pool of 20 players for the upcoming Asian Rugby Sevens Series to be held in UAE on November 19 and 20.

The new faces who have been in tremendous form in the recently concluded inter-club Warriors rugby sevens tournament have been picked by the selectors.

Selected players are scheduled to enter a bio bubble at the Sugathadasa Sports complex on Tuesday the 2 of November and will commence preparations for the upcoming Asian sevens series competition under the watchful eyes of the national rugby coaches Ben Gollings and Nilfer Ibrahim.

The 20 member preliminary rugby squad will be further cut down to 15 players where 12 players will travel to the Asian rugby championship in UAE.

The Preliminary Sri Lanka rugby men’s 7’s Squad for Asian 7s is as follows;

Samual Ogbebor, Hirantha Perera, Kushan Indunil, Reeza Raffaideen, Janidu Dilshan (CH&FC), Sachith Silva, Iroshan Silva, Vageesha Weerasinghe, Suranga Kasun (Police), Sudharaka Dikkumbura, Nalaka Maduranga, Lasantha Kumara (Army), Nuwan Perera, Ishara Madushan, Ramith De Silva, Anjula Hettiarachchi (Air Force), Adeesha Weeratunga, Kanchana Ramanayake, Chathura Seneviratne, Nishon Perera (Navy).
