Twenty nine Deputy Ministers sworn-in

Twenty nine Deputy Ministers of the National People’s Power (NPP) Government were sworn in yesterday before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

There are five doctors among the Deputy Ministers who were sworn in yesterday. Meanwhile, a professor, two lawyers and two engineers are also among the new Deputy Ministers. Dr. Namal Sudarshana, Dr. Prasanna Kumara Gunasena, Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni, Dr. Madhura Sevevirathne, Dr. Susil Ranasinghe, Sunil Watagala, T. B. Sarath, Eranga Weerarathne, Janith Ruwan Kodithuwakku and Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando are among the Deputy Ministers. Two Deputy Ministers Janith Ruwan Kodithuwakku and Dr. Prasanna Kumara Gunasena have been appointed as Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation and Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways respectively for the Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Ministry. Secretary to the President Dr.Nandika Sanath Kumanayake was also present.
