Two accused get 15 years RI for robbery
The two accused in the Rs.1,000,000 robbery from a house at Wariyapola Ranthiriyawa were found guilty and sentenced to 15 years Rigorous Imprisonment under 6 counts to be served concurrently in 10 years and fined Rs.15,000 each by Kurunegala High Court Judge Mapa Bandara yesterday.
The suspects had entered the house on March 21, 2015 and robbed Rs.1,000,000 in cash.
“The suspects had been armed with a hand grenade and a locally made shotgun at the time of the robbery, Police said.
State Council Janith Thilakarathna prosecuted while Attoney Sirisena Palliyaguru appeared for that accused.
