The Anuradhapura Police said that two persons, including a former Mihintale Municipal Council member were arrested following their attempt to attack a group of Police officers in Anuradhapura. A 42-year-old Anuradhapura resident and a 28-year-old former Mihintale Municipal Council member have been taken into custody by Police. These two suspects had fled when Police attempted to arrest them inside a hotel after disobeying the order to stop. Additionally, several persons inside the hotel had attempted to attack the Police officers when they tried to apprehend the motorcyclists. Police said that one of them was a former Mihintale Municipal Council member.Investigations are being conducted to arrest them.
