Two CMC workers arrested over vehicle part theft
The Bambalapitiya Police have arrested employees of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) who sold parts of a vehicle that had been parked at the water transport section of the Municipal Council in Bambalapitiya.
Investigations were conducted on a complaint made by the field administrator of the Colombo Municipal Council and these two suspects were arrested. They are residents of Narahenpita Railway Station Road and Dabare Mawatha.They have stolen several accessories including a dust cover and an axle of a double cab. The police have recovered some of the stolen devices.
Investigation revealed that this theft had been done within five days between March 11 and 16.
Police received the complaint about this theft on March 28. By March 29, the suspects were arrested and some of the stolen goods were recovered, Police said.
