Two die stung by wasps, another hospitalised

Ambalanthota Police say that one of two persons who went fishing in the Adigama Lake in Habaratwala and went to the nearby jungle area to prepare a fishing rod died after being stung by wasps. The deceased was a 57-year-old farmer who resides in Sooriyawewa, Venivel Ara.

Police said that the two persons got stung by wasps while going fishing in Adigama Lake. There, they ran to a nearby tent to escape from the wasps and the wasps chased them and stung them and two other persons who were in the tent.

The Police say that one of the two persons who ran to the tent fell on the ground and died due to a wasp sting.

Police also said that one of the other three persons, who got stung, was admitted to the Sooriyawewa Hospital.
