Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe yesterday (30) ordered that the two High Court clerks arrested by the Keselwatta Police and presented to court on charges of stealing plastic bags of heroin and disposing of goods referred to the Government Analyst which were in the case exhibits room of the Colombo High Court, be remanded till July 4. Police told court that they have commenced investigations to arrest another court employee involved in this incident. Police, who had reported the fact that the suspects had committed an offense punishable under the Public Property Act by stealing case exhibits in the High Court courtroom, said that they are conducting an investigation into where the heroin contained in these plastic bags had been disposed of. The suspects, Rasika Bandara Weerasinghe, a resident of Dewala Road Pannipitiya and Sampath Kumara Priyasad, a resident at Mihindu Mawatha, Pannipitiya, were remanded.
