Two foreign biological samples found

With the disclosure to the Court that according to the DNA reports called in relation to the death of Janashakthi Director Dinesh Schaffter that there are two other foreign biological samples, Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday ordered a DNA report of Schafter’s business friend cricket commentator Brian Thomas to be obtained as well.

This order was issued by the Magistrate based on the recommendations of the five-member medical committee appointed to determine whether Schaffter’s death is murder or suicide.

Two medical specialists from the committee, who appeared before the court, requested the court to issue the relevant order as it was relevant in relation to the investigations on Schaffter’s mobile phone recordings and WhatsApp messages.

The Government Analyst had reported to the Court that the water bottle used by Schaffter, the cable wire and the wire tied around his hands had two foreign biological samples.
