Two, mastermind in Thalangama shooting arrested

Thalangama Police said that the two who came on a motorcycle, including the mastermind behind the shooting in Battaramulla Robert Gunawardena Mawatha, were arrested yesterday (1).

Thalangama Police have discovered that the murder was a result of a conflict between the gang of Gadda or Marcus Joseph who is hiding in Dubai, and the underworld gang and Battaramulla Bunty, who is also in hiding abroad.

Eranga alias Era (34) of Athurugiriya, who planned the murder was arrested. Police said that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had planned this on the instructions of Gadda alias Marcus Joseph, who is hiding in the country of Dubai. It has been revealed that this suspect and Gadda have been charged with murder in connection with a killing that took place in Athurugiriya and that details had been discussed with Gadda in Dubai through messenger.

Along with the suspect, a person from Athurugiriya who prepared the fake licence plate of the motorcycle used for the murder, has also been arrested.

Crime Division OIC Sub Inspector N.Lakshitha and a team of police officers are conducting further investigations according to the instructions of Thalangama Police OIC Chief Inspector Roshan Anuruddha.
