Two released in swimming pool case

Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika C.Ragala yesterday ordered the release of National Swimming Coach and attendant of the CR and FC swimming pool from the case filed against them.

This relates to the alleged mixing of chlorine beyond the recommended quantity to the swimming pool’s water. They are currently out on bail.

When the matter was taken up, the Cinnamon Gardens Police informed the Magistrate that investigations have not been concluded yet.

Meanwhile, five children who had gone for swimming practices to the CR & FC Swimming Pool on May 12, 2019 are reported to have experienced breathing difficulties and were immediately taken out of the pool and taken to the Emergency Unit of the Colombo National Hospital where they were admitted for treatment.
