Two seriously injured in wasp attack

Thanthirimale Police said that two people who were in a critical condition after being attacked by wasps were admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital Sunday (10).

A group of about 35 people who came to visit the Thanthirimale Raja Maha Viharaya was attacked by the wasps.

Two persons who reside in Devanagala and Dewaragampala, Mawanella were admitted to the Thanthirimale Hospital and later transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

The Police said that this group, who came to visit the Thanthirimale Raja Maha Viharaya from Mawanella was attacked by the wasps when they were walking towards the nearby pond after worshiping the Raja Maha Vihara.
