Two sisters found scorched in Jaffna

Jaffna Police on Saturday found burnt bodies of two women from a house in Urgaveru, Jaffna.

Police had also found a matchbox near the two dead bodies and it is not yet known how the two women died.

The police have received information that the deceased are sisters,   Esilin Polina and Yesudasan Victoria, who are over 65 years. The police say it is not yet possible to ascertain whether the two women’s deaths were suicides or murders. The two dead bodies have been taken to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for an autopsy and the Jaffna Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
