Two teams to record statements over death of teen at Rishad’s house
The teams deployed to probe the matter consist of officers attached to the Divisional Crime Detective Bureau and Divisional Children and Women Bureau of Colombo South, he added.
The Investigation teams have recorded statements from four persons who are living in Kiriwandala, Puwakpitiya area the deceased girl’s family had lived prior to moving to Dayagama.
Among the persons who have given the statements, were the Principal and the Vice Principal of the Kiriwandala Tamil School where the girl had studied for a while.
Following that, the Investigation teams recorded additional statements from her mother and other relevant parties in the Dayagama area yesterday. Meanwhile, a mobile phone belonging to a male domestic worker at the same residence of MP Bathiudeen was seized by the Borella Police. The seized mobile phone was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to uncover any missing files or data. Further probes will be conducted in order to ascertain the offences committed in violation of the Penal Code and other relevant laws, SDIG said.
