Thalangama Police has arrested two drug addicts over the theft of copper parts from the lightning conductors and electrical wiring at the National Auditor General’s Department building in Battaramulla.
According to a complaint filed by the Auditor General’s Department with the police, the value of the stolen copper parts is over Rs.2.1 million.
Police said that the two male suspects aged 19 and 20 years are residents of Ethulkotte. It has also been found that these two suspects are electricians by profession.They have confessed that they sold the copper parts stolen from the building to buy drugs. The two suspects are to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
