Helping to increase tourism volumes from the Russian market, Ukrainian charter and budget airline, SkyUp Airlines, will commence direct flights from Warsaw to Mattala International airport (MRIA) from December 20.
“It is noted that almost 16% of tourist arrivals up to now consist of Russian tourist arrivals and the addition of this airline will further boost this figure. It will also give additional revenue to the MRIA airport,” an official from Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. Furthermore, countries like Poland, Estonia, Lituania, and Moldova have planned 6 direct flights to Sri Lanka and through this air connectivity, we hope to receive around 4,400 tourists per month at the Mattala International Airport.”
SLTDA with Airport and Aviation Services Ltd has planned a special welcome at MRIA today (20) 7 30 a.m. to welcome Sky Up Airline at the Mattala Airport.
