Under 20 schools football semi-finals on October 15

Zahira College, Colombo will meet Darussalam College, Colombo, while Alighar National School, Eravur, Batticaloa will meet St. Joseph’s College, Colombo in the under 20 All Island, division one Semi Finals of “THE BALL BLASTER 2023”, 1st Eleven Schools Football Challenge Trophy 2023, sponsored by srilankankansportstv, organised and conducted by the Ministry of Education and Sri-Lanka Schools Football Association, on October 15 2023, at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo, commencing at 1.30 pm onwards.

St.Joseph’s College, Colombo emerging as the runner up in group “A”, beat Vaddakachchi Central College by 3 goals to 2 in the quarter final. Alighar Central College, Eravur, Batticaloa emerging as the the runner up in group “B”, beat St. Henry’s College, Jaffna by 5 goals to nil in quarter final. Darussalam College, Colombo emerging as the the Champions in group “A” beat Maris Stella College, Negonbo by 2 goals to nil in the quarter final. Zahira College, Colombo emerging as the the Champions in “B” beat Zahira College, Gampola by 6 goals to nil in the quarter final.

All four teams are equally balanced and it will be interesting to see Alighar Central College from Eravur, Batticaloa, when they meet St. Joseph’s College, Colombo in the first semi final at 1.30pm. Zahira College, Colombo and Darussalam College, Colombo semi final will also be an interesting game, which is scheduled for 3.30pm.
