UNP Galle district approves President as National Candidate

A resolution that President Ranil Wickremesinghe should come forward as a National Candidate for the upcoming Presidential Election was unanimously approved at the United National Party’s Galle district special convention held on Saturday (13).

The convention was held at the Galle Municipal Council auditorium. The proposal in this regard was presented by the party’s chairman MP Vajira Abeywardena. This is the first of a series of district conventions organized by the UNP under the instructions of party leader President Ranil Wickremesinghe to galvanize the party for the upcoming Presidential Election. UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, Minister Manusha Nanayakkara, former Minister P. Harrison and former Member of Parliament Saman Ratnapriya also addressed the gathering.
