Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the new programme of the UNP will be presented to the public after the Budget with a new concept and a new vision.
He was speaking at a discussion with Party officials at the Party headquarters at Sirikotha the Thursday regarding the future of the Party.
Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene, Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Chairman Vajira Abeywardena, General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara and others participated in the discussion.
Wickremesinghe instructed party officials to launch this programme at village level after the budget.
The General Secretary presented a report on the progress of the empowerment of party workers under the party reorganization programme.
Leader Wickremesinghe emphasized that the youth should be given the opportunity to come forward to do something new as it is difficult to bring all the separate forces against the Government together in the traditional way.
Deputy Leader Wijewardene and Deputy Leader Kariyawasam were tasked with formulating a new programme to take the party forward with the participation of the youth. Wickremesinghe launched the party’s membership promotion programme on the 20th and appointed nine youths to the party’s Youth Front.
