Update: Medawachchiya accident – deceased identified

Four people were killed and fourteen others injured in a motor accident involving a lorry in the Isinbessagala area in Medawachchiya on Monday evening.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the accident occurred when the lorry had lost control and toppled.

The Police said that the deceased have been identified as Chaminda Kumara, V.T. Srikantha, Ashan Chathuranga and K.N. Lakshan.

The injured are receiving treatment at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
