UTS Australia clinched the Cup Championship of the Peterite Centenary International Rugby Sevens by beating St Peter’s College Colombo 38 points (four goals, two tries) to 5 (one try) In the final played at St Peter’s College grounds, Bambalapitiya yesterday.
The Plate Trophy was bagged by Dubai College UAE ‘A’ team, who beat NEGRI SRU Malaysia by 19 points (two goals, one try) to 12 (one goal, one try) in the final.
Zahira College Colombo took the Bowl Championship by overcoming Thurstan College Colombo by 19 points (two goals, one try) to 12 (one goal, one try) in the final.
Managing Director of TDM International the Platinum sponsor of the two-day tournament, Themiya de Mel, the chief guest and Rector of St Peter’s College Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo gave away the awards in the Cup Champions.
The President of the Peterite Rugby Foundation, Samson Roy presented the award to the Plate Champions. Rev. Fr. Milan Bernard Prefect of the Games, gave away the awards for the Bowl Champions.
