Vacation of Post order against Middeniya OIC

Inspector General C. D. Wickremaratne has issued a Vacation of Post order against the Middeniya Police OIC Prasad Chandana Nishantha. 

Nishantha, who went to the Attorney General’s office on January 22 to sign an affidavit related to a case in the Walasmulla Court, is said to have left for England without informing or obtaining prior permission.

This officer was supposed to report back to work on January 24, but due to his absence, subsequent investigations have revealed that he had left the country at 3 pm on the 24th from Bandaranaike International Airport. This has also been confirmed by the Immigration and Emigration Controller General.

This officer, a father of two, is a resident of Galaha. Investigations have revealed that this officer had gone to England with the help of a woman. Police say that this officer has not even told his wife or children that he is leaving the country.

Investigations have also revealed that he returned home the previous day in official clothes and left after engaging in a conversation with his children and wife.

The Inspector General has taken steps to issue the vacation of post order against this officer.
