He then represented CR & FC and presently turns out for Police Sports Club in the inter club rugby tournament as an exceptional third row forward. Speaking to Daily News Vageesha said “I used to watch lot of rugby matches since I was a small boy and by watching those games I wanted to become one of the greatest rugby players in Sri Lanka one day.”.

Mainly my parents and my family, my coaches – Nilfer Ibrahim, Anuranga Walpola, Henry Terrence Navindra Dayan, Asanga Rodrigo, Shamly Nawaz, SP Lalith Leelaratne, IP Hashan Gomez, Ransilu Jayathilaka, Lasantha Gunawardana, Dinesh Kumara and Mothilal Jayathilaka, my supplements partner, Irantha Perera, my doctors, Dr Senaruupa Jayawardana, Dr Banaka Fernando and Dr Mithila Galabadage,my managers, Chaminda Gallage, Dinesh Bandara, Dinesh Kumara, and IP Chamika Ranasinghe, Police Sports Club Rugby Board, Snr. DIG M R Latheef, DIG Hafeez Marso, SSP Abeykoon , SP Nizam Jamaldeen, SSP Neranjan Abeywardena, ASP Ajantha,CI Chandralal Samarakoon, office colleagues of Nation Lanka Finance PLC and Isipathana rugby team and Police rugby team.. Hence I’m always grateful to all of them“.

“I used to be a very mischievous child when I was small, so I always wanted to play a a tough game That eventually made me to choose rugby. Hence I thought it was the most suitable game for me”.

“My favourite rugby player is Micheal Hooper- the flanker and Captain of the Australia national rugby team”.

“My greatest accomplishment was Isipathana College becoming unbeaten double champs in 2016, as well as myself becoming the best player of the year. Becoming a proud member of the cup runner up Police rugby team in 2019/20 Dialog Inter-Club league Rugby tournament and also being a member of the National Men’s Rugby Squad 2020.”.

“In life I don’t compare myself to any other person, but I always like to be me and I always believe in what I’m doing”. “I’ve got a lot of compliments from my fans, saying that I’m the player who made a difference in the pack with my body structure”.
