Ven Malewana Sobitha Thera passes away

Chief Incumbent of Sri Shailabimbaramaya, Sri Sambodharamaya Sri Kheththaramaya in Beruwala and Sri Pagnnanandaramaya in Dharga Town, Palitharamaya in Dematagoda Ven Malewana Sobitha Thera passed away yesterday. The Thera is the director of the Malewana Rasayanagaraya and Sri Gnaneswara Indegenous Medical Institute in Kurunduwatte, Beruwala.

The Thera has produced a number of indigenous medical practitioners including Ven Malewana Sri Gnanaissara Thera.

Ven Sobitha Thera maintained a very close cooperation with the other communities and earned their respect from people of all communities. His remains lie at Sri Shailabimbaramaya in Kurunduwatte, Beruwala and the cremation will take place on November 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the Beruwala beach.
