‘Ves’ ceremony by Nalandians to be held on Wednesday

The ‘Ves’ ceremony, which is to be held for the eighth time by the Nalanda College, Colombo, will be held on Wednesday (October 4) at the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple.

Organised by the Nalanda College Dancing Section, 34 Nalanda students will present their first performance following the ‘Ves’ ceremony. Accordingly, following the ‘Ves’ ceremony, the first performance will be held at the Nalanda College premises.

Through the organisation of events such as the ‘Ves’ ceremony, Nalanda College aims to uphold the dance traditions, which are prominent cultural elements of highlighting the Sinhala Buddhist identity, and to promote children’s extracurricular activities while protecting the Sri Lankan identity.

Nalanda College, which was established in 1925 stands in the forefront of nurturing and protecting the Sinhala culture and Buddhist identity.
