Veteran coach P.P. Silva dies
P. P. Silva the former Sri Sumangala cricket coach and father of former National player Kaushal Silva passed away and his funeral will be held on Sunday 8th January at 4.00 pm at the Wadduwa Cemetery.
His body will lie at Laksiri Florists, Galle Road, Nalluruwa, Panadura today from 8.30 a.m. to 10p.m.
Former National cricketers of noteworthy coached by P.P Silva were Indika Gallage, Kithruwan Vithanage, Dilruwan Perera and Don Anurasiri who played test and ODI cricket for Sri Lanka.
His elder son Kaushal Silva who represented S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia and captained the side was also a member of the Sri Lanka team who played for SSC, Sri Lanka A team as well as National test team .Kaushal who has settled down in Melbourne is scheduled to return home today (7)
Pinnaduwage Premadasa Silva better known as P.P Silva had his own academy called Panadura Cricket Academy that was established in 2004 and produced many talented youngsters. He completed 50 years of coaching on December 30.
