Video letting off drunk driver, old incident

Videos relating to a drunk driver being released by a police officer attached to the Imaduwa entrance of the Southern Expressway on the order of the latter’s OIC shared on social media is an old incident, Police said.

The conversation revolves around an OIC pressuring a police officer over the phone when a constable stops and interrogates a drunk driver.

The incident took place at the Imaduwa entrance of the Southern Expressway in June 2021.
