Video recording couple had 8 million subscribers on internet

A couple that had posted sexually explicit content promoting nudity and pornography on the internet, with the woman posing as a schoolgirl, and the man as a school boy, who were arrested by the Kadugannawa Police on Wednesday (13) were produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court yesterday (14). The couple was arrested by the Kadugannawa Police under the Obscene Publications Act and was released on strict surety bail conditions by the Kandy Magistrate. Further investigations by Police revealed that the suspect couple who were identified as a 28-year-old woman from Ruwanwella and a 29-year-old man from Pilimathalawa had legally registered their marriage and are planning to hold a wedding ceremony next year.

Police found mobile phones, a mobile phone holder, a laptop computer, school uniforms and a tie inside the room where the couple were engaged in video recording nude scenes. Both of them are university students where the 28-year-old female is studying in the forensic medical faculty of a state university and the 29-year-old male is a student of a private university studying in the engineering field. Upon further questioning by the Police, the couple confessed to posting such fake videos from a long time containing sexually explicit activities on the internet to earn money, adding that they had earned around Rs. 100,000 per month through the nude content videos uploaded on the internet. It had been revealed that the couple had an internet account with more than 8 million subscribers where they regularly uploaded these nude videos and earned money out of them enticing school children to get involved in these pornographic videos.
